This was divided into four sections of 14-16 players each, according to rating. It's a good tournament for beginning players as they play others who are ranked near them.
In the 4th section, in his very first tournament, Aaron came away UNDEFEATED. His three wins and two draws earned him a second place trophy.
In the 2nd section, Elisha won four of five games and also took a second place trophy.
We had five of the fourteen players in the top section.
Elizabeth got her first chance to play in a first tier. Amidst some tough competition, she did manage to win a game and came home with 1 point and some good experience. In the upper bracket, the spread is very large and it can be stacked again those at the bottom of the bracket.
Christi played hard chess and managed to force a stalemate against.... yep,
Joseph. With such a small tournament, it was brother against sister, and sister against sister. She finished the day with 1.5 points in the top section.
David lost a couple of close games, and finished with a respectable 2 points.
Besides his half point with
Christi,
Joseph played well and beat two other opponents for a total of 2.5.
Jenna pulled out 3 patient points in some of the longest games of the day.
Well done, each of you! We're very proud of you.
