Welcome to the Kitsap Homeschool Chess Club!
Kitsap Homeschool Chess Club is a scholastic chess club comprised of children 5-18. Most of the team is homeschooled, though students whose schools don't have an official team are always welcome. The emphasis here is on improvement, sportsmanship, and the honor intrinsic to the game of chess. While some of our players are exceedingly skilled, all players are part of the team. We meet Monday nights at the Silverdale Mall on the Mervyn's side from 6:45 - 8:15.
Chess season usually runs early January through the Scholastic Chess Championships in April. There are tournaments for beginning players, experienced players, champion players, by grade level, and even girls-only tournaments. That's our 2004 Queen's Quest Team to the right. All tournaments are optional, but participating sure helps the team points!
